The Alexandria Sister Cities Committee (ASCC) is proud to share an incredible opportunity to experience Scotland, not as just a tourist but through a deep dive into its history and culture. Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) is hosting a “Summer School in Scotland” program, a unique opportunity to live and learn in Dundee (one of Alexandria’s Sister Cities)!
Summer School in Scotland is a seventeen day program that allows participants to learn about Scottish culture in the classroom and on-site. Participants will have the opportunity to travel to Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Stirling to see the major landmarks in Scotland’s rich history. Prior to leaving, students will take classes at the NOVA Alexandria campus on the history of Scotland and English writers to prepare them for their trip, as well as tour Old Town Alexandria with its Scottish connections and visit the Washington National Cathedral.
If you are a student looking for the most interesting way to earn credit possible, or someone interested in learning more about Scottish culture, this program is for you. The application deadline is April 25, so check out the agenda, itinerary, requirements, and fees through the brochure.
If you have any questions, contact Dr. Jean Braden at firstname.lastname@example.org. NOVA is represented on the Alexandria (VA) Sister Cities Committee and is a valued partner on many of our events.
